Young, femme-fronted area bands gather at Will’s Pub to get loud at Femme PWR showcase

For women and their allies, the forecast ain’t so good right now. The war on women’s rights is no longer an insidious undercurrent of American society but rather a mainstream zeitgeist.

It’s why events like this week’s FEMME PWR show are especially crucial: as not simply a celebration of feminine expression but a reveille to gather and resist the fascist tide.

This showcase — featuring STELLA, NOTAM, Catnap and No Clue — is a diverse roundup of young, femme-fronted area bands that spans punk, emo, shoegaze, alt-rock and more. It’s a native sampler of next-gen talent that’s a reminder of the power of the female voice and a reclamation of the future.
