
Alt-rock legends Weezer are going on tour again, this time showcasing 20th record The Gold Album, released in August and praised by fans as a return to the “classic Weezer” sound. Gold Album combines their signature grungy rock and catchy guitar riffs, with drummer Patrick Wilson jumping in again to help with the songwriting.
For this tour, the shows are part rocking and part backyard party, showcasing a suburban-house stage design and a story involving mind control. It’s fitting, considering the band originally resonated with suburban kids in the 1990s, soundtracking that vague ennui of a teenager feeling they don’t belong amidst rows of identical houses. Rivers Cuomo and company are here to remind you that you didn’t, and hopefully never will.
