Maye gets dreamy at The Social Credit: Courtesy photo
Venezuelan pop chanteuse Maye is on her first headlining U.S. run and she holds court at the intimate Social this week.

Maye made a big splash in the pop mainstream in 2020 when her Latin-tinged indie-pop gem “Tú” ended up on no less than President Barack Obama’s summer playlist. The singer-songwriter has at last delivered on “Tú”’s initial hype with the recent release of debut album Música Para Abrir El Cielo. It’s a heart-stopping and ethereal hybrid of dream-pop with bossa nova flavors that we can’t get enough of.

Live, we hope she goes full My Bloody Valentine and makes our ears literally bleed as we swoon.

6 p.m. Sunday July, 20, The Social, $20.
