Currently celebrating its 10th anniversary, Fake Four is perhaps the most daring and boundary-pushing hip-hop imprint out there, and this lineup is essentially a label showcase for it. Headliner Ceschi rolled through and dazzled back in 2015 at the Social atop a Swamburger-curated bill. Besides being co-founder of Fake Four, this Connecticut polymath is simply one of the most unconventional rap artists out there, breaking unlikely ground that blends incredibly technical cadence with a singer-songwriter’s emotional and instrumental palette, turf that maybe only Yoni Wolf and Astronautalis can also claim. The other Fake Four acts featured – Onry Ozzborn and noise-rap duo Moodie Black – pack their own deep, and even darker, intrigue. Rounding out the bill are Boston indie-rapper Esh and rising Orlando dynamo E-Turn, who – not to freak anyone out or anything – has been known to torch even big-name headliners with her stage command. For forward-thinking hip-hop heads, it doesn’t get any more stacked than this.
