Band battles and cover bands. Individually, they’re eye-rolling enough. Put ’em together and that’s a special realm of hell. Well, except if Orlando promoter Ugly Orange is involved. This edition features some of the city’s top indie names mixing it up to cover an interesting list of artists.
Specifically, there’ll be TV Dinner as The Cranberries, Thrullian Father (members of Thrull, Gillian Carter, Like Father) as Stone Temple Pilots, Hoster’s Only Son (Roger’s Only Son & Hoster) as Elliott Smith, Margo Maybach Supergroup as The Strokes, Adam Harris as Randy Newman and Porch Coffin as the timely Oasis. Winner gets studio time, cash and eternal shit-talking rights. Partial proceeds go to Orlando Girls Rock Camp and Central Florida Public Media. In other words, everyone wins.
