While the merchants of extremity get the obvious attention for their antics, few tilt the sonic scales like the titans of stoner rock when the fuzz pedal hits the metal.
For their famous slab grooves and hulking guitars, Sweden’s Truckfighters are modern legends, and their arrival here will be Jesus-like for devotees of the almighty riff. In addition to the beastly doom metal of New York tourmates Restless Spirit, Florida reps hard on this deep bill with Tampa’s Florist and St. Pete’s Liquid Pennies, who’ve both just released excellent new records.
Pound for pound, ton for ton, this show will be one of the biggest, baddest, hairiest lineups all year. So leave the corpse-paint kabuki to those other dudes and let these riffs show who’s really boss hog around here.
