
Cat Power’s freshly launched run is named “The Greatest Tour” for the 20th anniversary of her venerated album The Greatest. It’s not some weirdly cocky superlative, though it’ll probably be true for a big chunk of the indie nation.
Any Cat Power show is a big deal, but this historical series commemorates a peak masterpiece that’s a pillar of the indie-rock canon. Matador’s anniversary reissue just dropped last week and the Orlando show will be only the third date on this world tour, so expect a beloved classic to be revived with fresh air and historical weight.
