Harpist Brandee Younger, a fast-rising star in the classical music world (and beyond), heads to Orlando this week for a two-set engagement at Judson’s with her trio project.
Younger is a collaborator with stars including Lauryn Hill and John Legend and a tireless champion of the works of avant-harp icon Alice Coltrane. She and the musicians in her trio come to the City Beautiful for a single date in Florida.
“As an artist, I’ve had this triple life where I’m doing the orchestral stuff, I’m doing the jazz stuff, I’m playing on these hip-hop and Top 40 tracks,” says Younger in an interview with SFJazz. “I like this triple life.”
The Brandee Younger Trio play Judson’s Live on Friday, March 21, at 7 & 9 p.m. Tickets are (somehow!) still available through the venue.
