At all the spots I frequent most for shows, the night is always bookended with a series of handshakes, hugs and high-fives with staff on the way in and on the way out. That presence, that soul, is especially defining with the veterans of the joint.
Shamon Galloway worked at downtown sister clubs the Social and the Beacham for over 10 years, most recently as an assistant manager. Sadly, news of his passing this week means those places will be absent his light. But to capture it one last time, the Beacham is holding a public memorial for Galloway on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Go pay respect.
