As a new event, you’d think they’d start small, but Orlando Nerd Fest wants to blow out the Orlando Airport Marriott Aug. 7-11. To drum up enthusiasm (and, let’s face it, funding), they’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign that goes until Friday, July 18 with perks that gamers will want to note, including a mini-keyboard signed by Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu for anyone who donates $800 (you also get to meet the man!) toward their $10,000 goal. Other prizes include all kinds of swag from Video Games Live co-creator Tommy Tallarico, with the big perk being an autographed guitar ($800 donation).

The big-money perks go on: A meet and greet with World of Warcraft lead composer Jason Hayes plus you get a keyboard signed by the musician ($500); a guitar signed by God of War composer Gerard Marino ($500, includes a meet and greet); a drum head signed by Nintendo’s Chihiro Fujioka ($400, includes meet and greet). But there are also free video games, DVDs, CDs, fest passes and other perks to be had for less than $100. Check them all out here. Watch the Kickstarter video below:
Three-day passes are $50. Day-by-day cost break down is as follows:
Thursday, Aug. 7 pre-party, free
Friday, Aug. 8, $20
Saturday, Aug. 9, $30
Sunday, Aug. 10, $15
Monday, Aug. 11 after-party, free
There are a ton of bands signed on to Orlando Nerd Fest, including Vivid, MC Frontalot, Urizen, Dr. Awkward, Random Encounter, Sci-Fried, MC Lars, Marc with a C, Milk Carton Superstars, Professor Shyguy, E-Turn and SPS, and more. Full lineup here.
