Behind Stephen Sanchez’s 21-year-old baby face is a devout old-school soul. While most of his contemporaries are clumsily trying to figure out how to translate internet-age sensibilities into art, he’s diving deep into the classic stuff.

On his 2023 debut album, Angel Face, Sanchez has crystallized his aesthetic. Musically, these songs are a golden, vintage blend of pop and soul. Vocally, he delivers them with mood and flair in the great tradition of crooners like Roy Orbison.

It’s a captivating blend of studied taste and natural skill. Add in the alluring aura of nostalgia and you’ve got the latest and greatest young embodiment of timeless style.

Opening will be Australian indie-folk band The Paper Kites.
