Although Profanatica are certified pioneers of American black metal, they’ve been making news lately more for their offstage antics than their music.
For black metal, obscenity is a sine qua non. Still, Profanatica have taken it to hilarious new heights at their merch table, where a vial purportedly containing the semen of bandleader Paul Ledney has been on sale. Not sure what he personally plans to serve up for their show here, but the band will certainly drop a heavy load of the corpse-painted onslaught that’s permanently enshrined them as USBM legends.
Opening will be an orgy of grind, death and black metal featuring Tennessee’s Knoll, Mexico’s Unidad Trauma and Orlando’s Pontifex. OK, gotta go shower now.
7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, Conduit, $27.51.
