Having long since given up on Mötley Crüe, I was quite surprised to come across this live, double-CD set, “Live: Entertain-ment or Death.”
At one point the band actually was bigger than Tommy Lee’s penis — and disc one relives those glory days of the band’s first two albums. Recorded during the rockers neo-satanic heydays circa 1982 to 1985, cuts like “Looks That Kill,” “Live Wire,” “Public Enemy #1” and “Piece of Your Action” remind you just how fun Mötley Crüe used to be.
Disc two, however, is a painful reminder of what went wrong with the band. Filled with weaker, post-666 material like “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Wild Side,” the second CD makes for a nice drink coaster.
