Orange County, CA, pop-punkers Melissa Brooks & the Aquadolls are like a very modern update of the Runaways/Joan Jett sonically, but are waaaay too young to have been around for any of that. Tonight they play Will’s Pub as part of a national tour.
In an LA Weekly interview, Brooks described her music as “Spice Girls but more punk,” but there’s a fair amount of Buzzcocks-esque leftfield pop savvy lurking too. Support from RV, Natalie Claro and Mixed Up.
The show is at 6:30 p.m. tonight, tickets are $10-$12.
