Orlando musicians join Have Gun, Will Travel to perform ‘The Last Waltz’ in Tampa

If you’re able to get away for the night next Thursday, Nov. 19, you might want to consider a jaunt to Tampa’s Crowbar to check out their Reel Deal Thursday event that features a screening of The Last Waltz followed by a special performance of The Band’s complete concert as revived by celebrated folk heroes Have Gun, Will Travel and some familiar faces Orlando will certainly recognize.

Eugene Snowden fills the shoes of Pops Staples, Kaleigh Baker comes out as Mavis Staples and Thomas Wynn takes a turn as Van Morrison. (If you caught Baker’s Janis Joplin spin during Fringe, you know she’s got the chops to morph her wild instrument to revive the old spirits her music lovingly pays tribute to.)

This is a night to envy if you’re stuck here in Orlando, but the show starts at 7 p.m. with the concert at 9:30 p.m. for anyone trying to make the music. More info here.
