“Empress of Soul” Gladys Knight is ready to hold court in Orlando in a few days, after her last appearance was abruptly canceled due to illness.

The 80-year-old soul legend and 2024 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is coming to town for a Steinmetz headlining gig. Expect the hits — both solo and essential work with the Pips, drawn from a discography of more than 30 albums.

You may very well dissolve into a puddle of pure emotion during “Midnight Train to Georgia.”

7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, Steinmetz Hall, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, $70-$152.
