I hadn’t really noticed my old pal Mills Avenue taking tons of selfies or posting look-at-me Facebook statuses or anything like that lately, but the only reason I can think for the outpouring of love that’s about to hit the popular main street district is that Mills 50 wants more attention. Well, I noticed, Mills, and with Music on Mills, indeed, you are looking good lately. (Of course, I kid. The actual cause for Music on Mills is to help fund more public art and safety initiatives in the neighborhood district. More murals, less tire-slashing plz.)

On Saturday, Oct. 18, starting at 3 p.m., an art and vendor market will take over Mills 50, including food trucks lining the beaten path between five participating venues: Bart, St. Matthew’s Tavern (indoors and outdoors), the Peacock Room, Wally’s (outdoor stage) and Will’s Pub. At the venues, they booked a variety of great local acts, including the Pauses (recently back from their mini-tour), the Hindu Cowboys, the Sh-Booms, Juke with Eugene Snowden, Sarah Purser, Wheeler Newman and the Cosmic Roots Collective and much more listed here and to be announced.
