Mark Hosler, best known as a member of culture-jammers Negativland – sued within an inch of their lives by U2’s label Island in 1991 for the sample-heavy “U2” EP (listen below) – is taking a break from his day job and hitting the road this month for some solo shows.
Not content to coast on Negativland infamy, Hosler is a fearsome experimental artist in his own right, playing physical, improvised sets of electronics of his own devising. And now arts booster Civic Minded 5 is bringing him to Orlando in a couple of weeks!
Mark Hosler headlines the Timucua Arts House on Friday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10-$20.
