Today acerbic singer/songwriter Loudon Wainwright III premiered his new single, a bleak (as fuck) and funny look ahead to a Trump presidency.
Titled simply, “I Had a Dream,” and premiered on Salon and the Story/Sound Records’ soundcloud, it’s packed full of black humor poetics like: “It wasn’t even close, It was a landslide / And our new hot first lady was beaming with pride / If you think that’s cool don’t fool yourself / He made Ben Carson our new secretary of health.” All against a deceptively languid and pleasant guitar and harmonica backing. Like hardcore punk for the NPR set. Not bad.
