Nineties favorite Shawn Mullins brings his acoustic Americana groove to the Dr. Phillips Center. Best known for the lilting Grammy-nominated single “Lullaby,” the singer-songwriter broke through in the late ’90s with Soul’s Core, a record that fit in perfectly among its peers at the time (Sheryl Crow, Matthew Sweet).

Listeners may recall his tracks making their way into TV series of the time like Dawson’s Creek and Scrubs. Mullins is reissuing and revisiting that same debut platter as Soul’s Core Revival, a reimagination of the stripped-down solo songs therein with full-band arrangements.

Touring with Mullins is Orlando singer-songwriter Cat Ridgeway, who is uniquely tuned into the sound of Mullins’ ’90s heyday. It makes for a great mix of past, present and future.

6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday, June 5, Judson’s Live, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, 445 S. Magnolia Ave., drphillipscenter.org, $35-$70.
