Belgian dancefloor sleazoids Lord of Acid are returning to Orlando with a filthy, sweaty industrial-techno collision custom-made for excess, stimulation and disco-ball scrying. Just as notable to our ears, though, is gloriously messy and confrontational opener Mz Neon.
The trans electro-rock artist whips up a sweaty, thoroughly modern pan-genre moshpit, presiding over the chaos like the glamorous “cultural icon” (per Lydia Lunch) she is. Arguably, she’s more subversive than the Lords simply by dint of her reality: being a trans artist touring America beyond the blue-bubble safezones, proferring in-your-face anthems like “Cop Fucker” and “Queen Hyena.” This is the real stuff.
6 p.m. Friday, May 15, The Abbey, 100 S. Eola Drive, abbeyorlando.com, $39.55.
