Cartoon rock stars Gorillaz return to Orlando to kick off their North American tour this fall. Maybe leader Damon Albarn is a big theme park fan?
The last (and first) time Gorillaz played the City Beautiful was the final date of their first U.S. run, back in 2022. This time they’re doing the exact opposite — fittingly, for a quartet of animated post-modern rockers that upend so many pop orthodoxies — and playing the first show of their tour at the Kia Center.
This tour, in support of newest India-inspired album The Mountain, starts in mid-September in Orlando and ends up in Seattle on Halloween night. The only other Florida show is in Miami. Touring openers are Little Simz and Deltron3030.
Gorillaz play the Kia Center on Thursday, Sept. 17. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 9, through Ticketmaster.
