“Shakira, Shakira!”
You know the line, and on Wednesday night at Camping World Stadium, you heard it everywhere. As fans packed in for the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (“Women No Longer Cry”) world tour, the iconic lyric was shouted by staff, kids, moms and even abuelas. Whether you were walking in or finding your seat, someone nearby was already singing it.
The crowd was a reflection of the singer’s multi-generational and multicultural appeal. Everyone was united by the familiar songs and the energy Shakira brought to the stage, which never let up throughout the entire set.
Opening with the powerful “La Fuerte,” Shakira took fans on a journey through her 30-year career, winning over an already-hyped crowd. She moved between Spanish classics like “Estoy Aquí” and “Ojos Así” to other popular singles like “Don’t Bother” and “TQG,” her hit collaboration with fellow Colombian star Karol G.
The devoted showed up in full force — and in full costume. Some rocked purple wigs inspired by the “Las de la Intuición” music video, while others sported coin belts and sequined tops in homage to Shakira’s iconic belly-dancing performances.
Effortlessly switching between English and Spanish, Shakira spoke to the audience like an old friend. At times, she strummed a guitar or played bass; at others, she took center stage solo, captivating the crowd with mesmerizing belly-dancing. No backup needed, though she was joined by a talented crew of dancers for the more high-energy numbers. Even with a few audio hiccups, Shakira took it all in stride, smiling and telling the crowd, “I don’t stress anymore,” before jumping right back in. It was clear, she was having fun, and so was the crowd.
One of the biggest moments of the night came during her performance of “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” the 2010 World Cup anthem that had the entire stadium on its feet. That song, and really the whole show, was a reminder of her global influence.
Shakira reminded us all why she’s lasted this long: Not just because of her talent but because she makes you feel like she’s your cool cousin, the one who always shows up to the party, takes over the playlist and turns the living room into a full-on dance floor.
