The Funk Fest package tour is rolling through the City Beautiful this weekend with, candidly, their strongest lineup yet: a powerhouse gathering of R&B, soul, hip-hop, neo-soul and funk luminaries of yesterday and today. A quick scan through the lineup made us think we were looking at one of those Festify “festival lineups” that we’re seeing all over the internets. The icon Erykah Badu sharing a stage with Bell Biv Devoe, Ginuwine, Monica and Dru Hill? Make sure you stretch before this one, or you’ll definitely pull a few muscles. And if you’re not satisfied with two nights of music, stick around for the women’s empowerment brunch that’s capping off the weekend; West Coast rap royalty Yo-Yo is the special guest. Floored.
