Sure, you could romp around downtown with the glitterati, but how many other people saw the cryptic cat video invite, narrated Stephen Hawking-style, for the New Year’s Eve party hosted by local pseudo-label Dead Precedence? When you pair the strangeness of it with the off-the-beaten-path location over at the Acre, you have what seems positioned to be Orlando’s most you-had-to-be-there party. There will be an electronic indie soundtrack, provided partially by former Orlandoans A.T.T.I.C., whose fearless frontwoman Megan Gattozzi always shows up ready to sway, effortlessly lightening the vibe of any room (or in this case, any plot of land). Dead Precedence flagship artist ALAK will also be in town, all the way from California – which, if anything, will only carry the night into even more surreal territory. It’s been a weird year. Why not put an end to it by trusting the capably peculiar party people attached to Dead Precedence? – Ashley Belanger
