Premieres Thursday:

Harlem — Robin Givens joins the cast in Season 3, playing the mother of a venture capitalist. For our younger readers who may not have heard of Givens, she’s remembered mostly for having gone on TV to warn America that Mike Tyson was violent. (We were slow to pick up on these things back then.) (Prime Video)

The Night Agent — As Season 2 commences, Gabriel Basso’s Peter has been rewarded for saving the president’s life with a promotion to the clandestine outfit Night Action. I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of perturbed that a taxpayer-funded government agency would have the same name as a Cinemax movie from 1987. (Netflix)

Premieres Friday:

Eva the Owlet — Season 2 spans a single, eventful night in the life of our ever-busy cartoon heroine, from planning a backyard cookout with her animal pals to preserving the peace at their town’s annual acorn roll to ultimately copping some bad shit from a stranger and asphyxiating outside the Viper Room. (Apple TV+)

Grafted — When a Chinese medical student attempts to correct her lifelong facial blemish, she unlocks a fascination with DIY self-improvement that becomes a dangerous obsession. So it’s The Substance for people who like to do things the old-fashioned way? (Shudder)

The Sand CastleLost meets The Ice Storm, with an Arab family stranded on a deserted island and watching their emotional bonds fray along with their chances of being rescued. Don’t judge them too harshly; there are families that have split apart after four hours at Wet ’n Wild. (Netflix)

Shafted — The idea that the 21st century is a minefield of unfair complications for middle-aged white guys is the springboard to comedy as four French dudes struggle to make sense of their women and their work. Hey, mes amis: Your body, my remote. (Netflix)

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call — A straight-talking South Korean surgeon makes it his mission to organize a world-class trauma unit, with his experience on the front lines of war as his most compelling credential. And also, owning every season of Scrubs on 4K. (Netflix)

Premieres Monday:

Scars of Beauty — In this Brazilian telenovela, two families unite to get revenge on the institutions that subjected them to unimaginable suffering. Look, we’re all disappointed with the WWE, but that’s no reason to go Mangione on anybody. (Max)

Premieres Tuesday:

Liza Treyger: Night Owl — The Ukrainian-born comic riffs on everything from her weed habit to her dislike of her friends’ spouses. Wow, imagine how hostile she might be if she weren’t baked. (Netflix)

ParadiseThis Is Us creator Dan Fogelman reunites with Sterling K. Brown, casting him as a security guard who becomes the chief suspect in the death of a former president. Or as we would have called him just a week ago, “a national hero.” (Hulu)
