The Enzian hosts South Asian Film Fest this weekend, promising cinema ‘Beyond Bollywood’

For over 30 years, Maitland arthouse the Enzian has teamed with the Asian Cultural Association to put on the South Asian Film Festival, promising to take local film fans “Beyond Bollywood.”

This year’s festival features five films screened over a long weekend: A Nice Indian Boy, Humans in the Loop, Tango Malhar, Between the Mountain and the Sky and Dilli Dark.

Of particular local interest: Amar Shah, local filmmaker and Emmy-winning writer and producer, will screen his short The Patel Motel Story before Between the Mountain and the Sky on Sunday.

Friday-Monday, Oct. 4-6, Enzian Theater, 1300 S. Orlando Ave., Maitland, enzian.org, $14-$65.
