Because I Said So director Michael Lehmann is the guy responsible for Heathers back in 1989, which makes his continuing descent into romantic-comedy hell so much more tragic. The Truth About Cats & Dogs and 40 Days and 40 Nights were bad enough, but this latest, about a meddling mom (Diane Keaton) who uses the Internet to set her daughter (Mandy Moore) up with men, is utterly insulting. There’s not a member of the cast who isn’t better than this premise or its execution. One more of these stinkers and Lehmann will entirely erase the memory of Heathers.
