An oddly intoxicating comedy, 10 Items or Less finds an original way to create yet another movie about a movie. Morgan Freeman plays an aging actor looking to end a four-year hiatus from film by dipping his toes in the emerging independent film industry. The story follows Freeman as he spends a day doing research for the project at an out-of-the-way Spanish grocery store. While there, he strikes up a hesitant friendship with the young, vibrant cashier, Scarlet (Paz Vega), inciting an interesting relationship where the upper and lower class collide. This DVD release comes packed with extras including a feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary, taking you through each day of filming. The disc offers commentary, a Q&A with the cast and crew and deleted scenes, but the documentary alone is worth the price.
