Season One of this hilarious, late-1990s animated series debuted on DVD just six months ago; that must have gone over well because here comes the second. As in the first release, the good doctor is a mild-mannered shrink, voiced by super-dry Jonathan Katz. In this new two-disc, 13-episode package, his patients are voiced by such funnymen and women as Steven Wright, Garry Shandling, Janeane Garofalo, Ray Romano, Joy Behar and Sandra Bernhard, among others. The animation is as disarmingly simple as the humor is unfailingly subtle. â?�You gotta stop explaining the joke,â?� a bar buddy advises Dr. Katz, after one of the doctor’s jokes bombs. â?�If you do that, life’s not worth living.â?� This seems to have been the motto of this Emmy-winning show.
