So you want to brush up on your wine smarts? Discover the charms of full-bodied California grapes, or savor the herbaceous undertones of a Chilean cabernet? Or maybe you just like to drink for free? You need to be in the right place at the right time — and that would be Winter Park on Saturday at a group of wine clubs, shops and restaurants along the Aloma/Fairbanks corridor.
The Wine Club has tastings from noon-6 p.m. (929 W. Fairbanks Ave., 647-4744), and so does Dexter’s (200 W. Fairbanks Ave., 629-1150). Around the corner is Park Avenue Wine and Cheese Cellar (323 S. Park Ave., 628-3963), which offers tastings from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Whole Foods Market offers samples of new arrivals noon-3 p.m. (1989 Aloma Ave., 673-8788).
That’s four wine tastings, all close by. Now, all you need is a designated driver.
