Since its April 26 grand opening, the two-story, 12,550-square-foot food hall has been dishing out bites and beverages at each of its many original culinary concepts and full-service bars.
Also on offer at the Ivanhood space is plenty of event space and a sizable outdoor courtyard where guests can find Foxtail Coffee, Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream and, across the way, apéritif and wine bar Arden.
As for City Food Hall residents, what follows is a rundown of each of the new eateries and bars now open and ready for your judgement.
Chez Les Copains
The classic French brasserie is a collaborative project by chefs Michael Collantes (of Soseki, Bar Kada and Sushi Saint) and DJ Tangalin (of Danilo’s Pasta Bar), offering a menu that features a raw seafood bar and a selection of entrees from land and sea, including locally sourced fish.
Chez Les Copains is located on the second floor of the food hall and is the only full-service establishment in the space. It aims to curate an intimate dining experience for guests.
Ramen Takagi
A second location to complement its Oviedo outpost, Ramen Takagi is a family-owned Japanese eatery specializing in authentic ramen and other traditional bites like onigiri, gyoza and karaage.
Asin
Asin is a Filipino chef’s-tasting counter.
Taglish
This Filipino fast-casual concept acts as a reboot of the original Taglish by Michael Collantes, but with an entirely new menu signed off on by DJ Tangalin (who’s splitting his culinary innovation between this spot and food hall neighbor Chez Les Copains).
EggDose
This over-the-top egg-focused spot boasts girthy and creative breakfast sandwiches. There’s a classic scrambled, a Benedict, a Mexican and a “Maple Dose” (housed between two powdered sugar-covered brioche-style French toast buns).
The concept began as a highly coveted pop-up around Central Florida, before graduating to its home in City Food Hall, although egg lovers can still get their fix at the Winter Garden Farmers Market on Saturdays and the Orlando Farmers Market on Sundays.
Smash DunkIt’s smashburgers galore at Smash Dunk, an outpost serving both beefy patties and a beefed-up basketball theme, with burger names to match: the Triple Double, the GOAT, the Lay Up, the All Star and more.
Cheese 2 Share
The family-owned Cheese 2 Share offers modern European eats, including sandwiches, flatbreads, and of course plenty of sharable cheesy options.
Blessed Belly
Specializing in birria, Blessed Belly roots itself in traditional flavors with a menu offering tacos, quesadillas and other Mexican dishes, all made with slow-cooked meats.
Kalalou
Kalalou’s menu features Caribbean flavors and dishes including jerk chicken, Kalalou oxtail, blackened salmon and much more.
City Food Hall is open now at 1412 Alden Road.
