Pom Pom’s Sandwiches is gearing up to bring its beloved bites to a new neighborhood.

After the longtime sandwich emporium and tea shop shuttered its Milk District location in fall of 2024, owner and flavor mastermind Pom Moongauklang surprised locals with big next steps. And now, the shop will open soon inside Henry’s Depot in Sanford, firing off many of the old menu’s mainstays.

Moongauklang partnered with Vinnie Nguyen in re-opening a renewed Pom Pom’s, taking the place of Salvatore’s Prime Sandwiches’ old stall inside the food hall.

The new outpost is set to offer favorite sandwiches including the Fu Manchu with Asian pulled pork and ginger-cranberry chutney and the Big Daddy with turkey, ham and roast beef.

Pom Pom’s closed after nearly two decades of serving locals. The cult-followed eatery was known for its “East meets West” themed sandwiches, salads and teas, with an entire menu under $16 at the time of closure. The Mama Ling-Ling’s Thanksgiving sandwich won multiple awards, and the restaurant regularly won or placed in Orlando Weekly’s Best of Orlando® readers poll for best late-night dining, best teahouse, best curbside service, best sandwich, best lunch and more.

But Moongauklang has even more of a busy year ahead of her. She’s set to handle the food program at the upcoming Parliament on Pine (29 S. Orange Ave.) and Parliament House Ivanhoe (2000 N. Orange Ave.).

And with little detail announced so far, the space that long housed Pom Pom’s original Bumby Avenue location is expected to receive a refresh and new concept by Moongauklang come fall. We’re still waiting on a name, and basically everything else.
