One of Orlando’s most venerated dive spots, Lee & Rick’s Oyster Bar, is celebrating its 65th birthday this week, and to kick off the celebration, they’ll be offering two-for-one buckets of shuck-your-own oysters 4-10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 6-7. Those two buckets will cost you just $25.95.
Sidle up to the 50-person bar, claim yourself a bottle of Tabasco and a bowl of sliced lemons and you’re set to shuck. Be mesmerized by the expert shuckers on the other side of the bar and order a vat of smoked fish dip while you wait.
Not into bivalves? The other menu items at Lee & Rick’s are as classic as the wooden oyster-boat facade on Old Winter Garden Road. Try two freshly battered corn dogs with fries for just under six bucks, or a basket of crawfish with corn and drawn butter.
Just leave the designer duds at home. Things are about to get messy in the best way.
