The Florida grocery chain has been looking at the 15,000-square-foot Ferg’s Depot located at 78 W. Church St., according to the Orlando Business Journal.
The space was formerly a sports bar and restaurant that closed in August 2018. The new store would be close to a mile away from the Publix that’s already in downtown Orlando on East Central Boulevard.
OBJ reports the Ferg’s Depot location could house a downsized Publix, similar to the GreenWise market that opened in Tallahassee in 2018. The GreenWise markets include a beverage bar, as well as freshly made food like sandwiches, acai bowls and sushi. So many restaurants, so little time.
