Ben & Jerry’s makes marriage-equality day even sweeter by introducing I Dough, I Dough ice cream flavor

Even though the company has long been sold to global conglomerate Unilever, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream still maintains the progressive spirit that’s always made it one of our favorite corporate citizens. Today, Ben & Jerry’s announced that it’s making marriage-equality day a little sweeter by renaming its Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream “I Dough, I Dough,” in honor of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision that marriage between same-sex couples is just as legal as hetero marriage. 

“To celebrate the occasion, and the countless citizens who’ve worked so hard to make it happen, we’re honorarily renaming our Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream I Dough, I Dough for the summer, at participating Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops nationwide,” the company says on its website, which has also had marriage-equality updates and action alerts to keep its customers up-to-speed about the issue. 

I Dough, I Dough can be purchased at participating Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops – and unfortunately, the map on the company’s website doesn’t show any Orlando locations offering it (yet – hopefully that will change in the coming days). If you can’t get it where you live, though, you can purchase a coupon for a Ben & Jerry’s pint, as well as a commemorative I Dough, I Dough pint sleeve, which you can use to wrap any pint of your choosing, at the Human Right’s Campaign’s website. All proceeds will benefit the HRC.
