We’re a long ways away from Florida’s strawberry season, but you can still get out there and harvest your own fruit! Aside from providing perfectly ripe berries, many farmers grow a wider selection of produce so you can fill your fridge with the freshest fruits and vegetables Florida farms have to offer. Here are a few Florida u-pick farms, where you decide what produce makes the cut to come back home with you.

Bekemeyer Family Farm, LLC 1055 E Story Rd, Winter Garden, 407-917-8068 This family owned and operated farm is open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays for U-pick oranges, strawberries, and vegetables. Pappy’s Patch U-Pick Strawberries 700 Florida Ave., Oviedo, 407-366-8512 Just a 30-minute drive from the heart of Orlando, this farm has two fields that offer berries at $3/lb and citrus fruits at $1/lb. Showcase of Citrus 5010 US-27, Clermont, 352-394-4377 Open every day of the year from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., this farms offers a wider range of experiences than your typical U-pick citrus farm. They provide historical tours of the 2,500 acre property on massive, highly modified 4×4 trucks, wine tastings, farm animal feedings and a gem mining experience for children. Heather Oaks Farm 4240 Christmas Ln, Lady Lake, 352-753-1184 About an hour drive north will land you in this quaint farm that offers U-pick blueberries and grapes when in season. The owners have installed aquaponic plots that allow them to grow vegetables, like tomatoes, kale and peas, year-round. A Patch of Blue, LLC 2316 Carrington Dr.,321-438-0370 Despite being predominantly a blueberry farm, A Patch of Blue also has strawberries ripe for picking. Oak Haven Farms & Winery 32418 Avington Rd., Sorrento, 352-735-1996 This historical farm has u-pick strawberries for $3.25/lb. On weekends, their country kitchen has u-roast hot dogs, soda, chips and home-style shortcakes with ice cream sundaes. Sledd’s U-Pick Farm Burkholm Road and Dixie Way, Mims, 321-537-7003 This cash only establishment currently only has vegetables for picking such as tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, kale, and eggplant.
