Aspiring writers, bookworms and literature nerds of all walks of life, rejoice! It’s time to welcome Functionally Literate, a quarterly reading event that aims to lure you from your humble, dimly lit dwellings into an all-out social celebration of all things wordy. This installment marks the launch of a new reading series for Orlando, and to kick things off, Don Peteroy, Playboy-published author of the new Burrow Press novella Wally, will be present for featured readings and book signings. This weekend’s meeting of the minds will also feature talented locals from across Central Florida, including founding editor of Saw Palm, John Fleming, Susan Lilley (author of Satellite Beach) and current Kerouac writer-in-residence Caitlin O’Sullivan. – Victor Ocasio
