Legendary slasher villain Jason Voorhees is set to join the crew of creepies at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando.
The appropriately timed announcement — Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th — reveals the new haunt, “Jason Universe,” will be a features attraction at this year’s HHN. The themed haunt will re-create the classic Camp Crystal Lake summer camp, complete with the hockey-masked Jason on a rampage.
“Jason Universe taps into four decades of horror legacy and reinvents it for a new generation — combining immersive storytelling and cinematic detail that only Universal Studios’ teams can deliver,” said Horror Inc.’s [the greatest name for a company ever? Possibly!] CMO Sheri Conn. “This is more than a haunted house — it’s a full-on tribute to one of the most iconic slashers in pop culture.”
Tickets for Halloween Horror Nights are already available through Universal Orlando Resort’s website. Halloween Horror Nights is set to run 48 nights from Aug. 29 through Nov. 2.
