Upcycling takes over the catwalk for a 10th year with the return of Orlando Science Center’s Trash 2 Trends event.

Presented by Goodwill and Keep Orlando Beautiful, the evening spotlights more than 20 artists making new haute looks out of discarded and donated materials and clothing. The combo dinner and fashion show “promotes sustainability in an innovative way” with a runway show at Dino Digs.

The show attempts to combine left-field glamour with raised awareness about the increasing fragility of our natural environment as climate change ramps up. That’s some heavy lifting right there.

6 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, Orlando Science Center, $48.
