The friendly Orlando feline and unofficial mayor of Thornton Park celebrates his birthday this week and the neighborhood constituency are dutifully rolling out the red carpet. Starting this weekend, the neighborhood becomes a world of LuLu with the returning LuLu Passport program, with which you can avail yourselves of LuLu bargains and keepsakes through May 23.

On Saturday, the area goes LuLu-bonkers — as if catnip-crazed — with a daytime “White Cat Party” reception outdoors hosted by Red Scarlett Salon. There’s also a LuLu-themed wine walk on May 14, a “Black Cat Party” on May 16 after the sun sets at Hyer and Washington, and a feline-themed art show at the Falcon that same night. Better than a ballroom, for sure.

11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, Thornton Park District, Summerlin Avenue and Washington Street, brozanskiforcats.org/lulusbirthday, free.
