In a true sign that summer is nearly over, Disco Boots at the Ren is wrapping up.
After several months of rhinestones and platforms, Disco Boots at the Renaissance Theatre comes to a close with a weekend full of events, fittingly dubbed “Last Dance.”
The send-off starts with a throwback night on Friday, July 24. Bellbottom jeans and cowboy hats will take center stage for this full-on 1970s night. Local drag star Dede Santos will also take the stage as a special guest.
Saturday culminates an all-or-nothing performance with the best of this summer’s disco sets from the Ren’s live band, singers and dancers. The troupe will be leaving it all out on the dance floor, from period hits to Beyoncé to original music. After the main event, guests are invited to continue the party until around midnight.
If you’ve missed out on the celebration so far, you have two last chances for a last dance at the Ren. Tickets are available online through the Ren or (maybe) at the door. The main show on both nights starts at 8 p.m.
