Whether, come last call, dedicated denizens of Thornton Park bar the Falcon found themselves wishing they “could stay here forever and ever and ever” is apocryphal, but for 15 years now it’s provided a quirky home for locals wanting a cozy drink and adventurous local art and music happenings.

So it’s fitting that, to celebrate this milestone, the Falcon goes reliably left-field with a group art show inspired by the Stanley Kubrick classic The Shining curated by Heidi Kneisl. Expect eccentric local interpretations of Kubrick’s chilling visions and more than a few grinning Jack Torrances transplanted to strange locales. DJ Spank spinning tunes and further anniversary surprises are promised (hopefully not a flood of blood down the bar’s main thoroughfare).

In sum, don’t take life advice from any phantom bartenders, but do keep an eye out for Thornton Park’s feline Mayor LuLu and be sure to shout, “Heeere’s LuLu!” maniacally.

8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, The Falcon, 819 E. Washington St., instagram.com/thefalconbar, free.
