Local filmmaker and musician Jimmy Schaus will be leaving Orlando within the next few weeks, but he’s leaving us with a gift of film for one night.
On Tuesday, Schaus screens a number of his experimental Super 8 films at Stardust Video, featuring work shot during his travels between 2021-2024 around the country and in Europe. The films will be accompanied by audio and music courtesy of Schaus and Tim Dukes (a tandem you may also know as Malverde).
“Schaus’ films capture, with an abundance of curiosity and humor, the texture of an artistic life lived with fullness and passion across two continents,” praised Cameron Worden of the Chicago Film Society. (Just in case you didn’t want to take our word for it.)
