Fenomenca, an original musical and dance production, debuts in Orlando at the Dr. Phillips Center. The production tells the story of a young woman named Pastora, who escapes poverty in hopes of a better future and goes on a journey of transformation through flamenco, theater and music.

Central Florida artist Daniela Perez wrote, directed and choreographed the entire production, which first premiered in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2017. The show promises a new take on flamenco, a kinetic and passionate art form that blends singing and expressive dancing to tell stories. Dancers from the local Flamenco Del Sur company bring Fenomenca to life, and it promises to be a fiery one.

8 p.m. Sunday, June 28, Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, 445 S. Magnolia Ave., drphillipscenter.org, $56-$68.
