Forgive us if we haven’t wrapped our heads around the fact that it’s already May. We’re nowhere near prepared for those impending “dog days,” – we start to sweat when we even hear about events labeled “summer” – so we’re trying not to see A&H’s annual concert series (second Friday of the month, May-September) as the beginning of the most hellish season – we’ll just think of it as the hot sister of the museums’ Culture & Cocktails art party series. Step into the pretty Main Garden environs for a live set by country-folk stalwarts the Hindu Cowboys, spoken word courtesy of Maitland Poets & Writers, bites provided by local food trucks and cooling cocktails at the cash bar. If the heat overwhelms, browse the indoor art exhibits at Maitland Art Center, or take a dip in the courtyard’s fountain – just don’t tell them we told you to do it. – Aimee Vitek
