Singhaus Scholarship Fund throws a benefit Oscar Watch Party hosted by Gidget Galore and ‘Bea Arthur’

This weekend you can take in the Oscars with esteemed Orlando comedy queens all for a good cause.

For a fourth year, the Singhaus Scholarship Fund is throwing an all-star soiree at the Abbey to raise money for their titular program, which grants scholarships to young local LGBTQ+ students studying for careers in the performing arts. The fund was set up to honor the memory of the Singhaus family, all pivotal figures in our local arts and drag scene: Marcy, Steve and Sam “Miss Sammy” Singhaus.

Sunday’s event will be hosted by Orlando drag royalty in the regal forms of Gidget Galore, Divine Grace playing Bea “Golden Girls” Arthur and special guest Darcel Stevens. Stay alert — you might get a free roasting courtesy of Galore.

The Singhaus Scholarship Fund’s Oscars watch party happens at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Abbey. Tickets are still available through Eventeny.
