Time to pull out your corsets and frock coats and head to the Mennello Museum of American Art for Voci Dance’s second installment of their Great Urban Spaces series: Tea & Letters. The modern dance company plans a Victorian-inspired tea party on the museum grounds and inside the galleries, complete with improvisational dance, ensemble choreography and tea cakes for $1-$3 (yum!). As is fitting during this Valentine’s month, Tea & Letters focuses on all things love and romance, from unrequited to psychotic. And like any pseudo-Victorian event, it wouldn’t be complete without a puppet show. Just don’t be distracted by anachronistic inconsistencies; Voci artistic director Genevieve Bernard’s goal was to create an otherworldly environment inspired by the Victorian era, not a stale reproduction of it. – Leanna Robinson
