The turtles were in SeaWorld’s Rescue Center due to a variety of reasons, including entanglement in fishing gear, shark attack wounds and debilitated sea turtle syndrome, according to a press release from SeaWorld Orlando.
The first turtle, Ccar16166, a 125 pound male, was rescued in May after being found entangled in a crab-pot line. The second turtle, Ccar1660, is a 152 pound subadult which was rescued in February after being found with flipper damage and exposed broken bone near St. Lucie Power Plant. The third turtle, a 60 pound subadult was found emaciated and lethargic in in March at Jensen Beach.
