You may not have heard of Josh Rouse. An unjust number of people haven’t. But he is, without hyperbole, one of the finest singer-songwriters of his time. Folk, indie-pop, Americana — all are accurate, but none are adequate to fully nutshell him.
Since emerging in the 2000s as a standout rootsy troubadour, he’s proven to be a versatile popsmith with rare gifts. Couched in his sparklingly easy delivery is melodicism of absolute crystal perfection. Quiet though he is, Rouse is a singular talent.
6 & 8 p.m. Sunday, June 7, Judson’s Live, drphillipscenter.org, $23.31-$41.01.
